What is Superflex? • Superflex Social Thinking Curriculum is a fun, motivating, and non-threatening way for our students to explore social thinking while: • Increasing their knowledge of expectations. • Increasing their awareness of their own behaviours. • Learning how to modify their behaviours with Superflex strategies.

  3. Who is Superflex? • Our hero! • Totally flexible, trying to figure out people’s wants and needs to keep other people calm while also getting his turn to play and speak as well. • He is a great problem solver and can think of many different solutions to one problem.

  5. Superflex Lunch Groups • Eight students were identified with weak social skills. • Invited to attend lunch group once a week (approx. 20 minutes). • Four students come on Monday with a friend and four come on Tuesday with a friend. • Encouraged to invite a new friend each week.

  6. Introducing Superflexand Unthinkables • Introduced Superflex, and all his wonderful qualities, and why we all want to be flexible like him. • Unthinkable characters were slowly introduced and a lot of time given to real life scenarios from the students. • Each character takes about 4 lunch groups to really be understood by the students. • We were able to introduce 3 characters from February to May.

  7. Videos • The students were very excited about how they could use their “Superflex” powers to “defeat” the Unthinkables and they wanted to make mini videos to share with the school. • The students came up with their own scripts for Superflex, Rock Brain and Glass Man. • We used Photostory to take pictures of the different scenarios and had 2 different student narrators.
