UMass Environmental Engineering Research Project“Development of a Chemical Treatment Model for Desalting Membrane Residuals” Principal Investigators: • Kenneth Mercer (PhD student), John Tobiason Sponsors • NWRI-Cargill Fellowship • Switzer Foundation Fellowship Duration: 9/05 – 8/08 Synopsis: Bench-scale chemical treatment by coagulation and/or softening of high ionic strength concentrates produced by desalting membranes. Goal is removal of trace contaminants and organic matter. Chemical quilibrium modeling of treatment processes.
