  3. Flexible circuits render multiple advantages for the users. They are not only flexible in nature but are easy to install and stock resistant in nature. In addition; they are immune to high temperature levels as well as chemical invasions. Their prices are also coming down consistently due to use of modern continuous processing technique by the manufacturers. These circuits are extensively used for TV scanning and in computer memories. What is a Flexible Circuit Flexible circuits use patterned wiring printed on flexible board of substrate. They may or may not have flexible cover layers. Sometimes dielectric materials as well as dimensional configurations are used to create the circuits. Flexible circuit is lightweight and thinner in comparison to conventional cables. Photolithographic process is normally used to create the patterned designs of these circuits.

  4. Flexible Circuit Types There are various types of flexible circuits. Circuits usually involve 3D technologies interconnecting the components. Rigid flex circuits often use the technology to generate reliable performances. Manufacturers assemble, solder, as well as test the circuit while flat and thereafter give it desired shape of the circuitry. Rigid FR4 circuits are the most commonly used rigid flex circuits in the industry. There are also single sided, double sided as well as multilayered flexible circuits besides dynamic flex circuits. Single Sided Flex Circuits Single sided flex circuits are extensive used because it is least expensive and at the same time effective variant for dynamic flex circuits. They are manufactured using either printed conductive ink or etched metal. Metal etched design gives access from both sides to the circuit. Double Sided Flex Circuits Double sided flex circuits are also popular and are used mostly in appliances that require high-density interconnection. They have two layers of metals connected using plated through-hole. Sometimes non-plated through holes technology is used also. The circuit contains various layers.

  5. Thank You Multilayer Flexible Circuits Multilayer flex circuits are commonly used in the appliances that require high density interconnections. Their systems are more complex in comparison to single or double layered circuits. Multilayer circuits are combination of several single or double layer circuits. Individual circuits after fabrication and joined as well as plated and the process is repeated to create a complex assemblage of circuits to form multilayer circuits. Basic difference between simple flex circuits and rigid flexible circuits is that the later has the characteristics of both flexible and rigid circuits. Its rigid portion supports the components and reinforces the connectors. Flexible portion on the other hand provide interconnectivity.
