  3. The Atmosphere is made up of air: 2) • Air is a mixture of gases with tiny amounts of solids, such as dust particles, and liquids, like water vapor, in it’s makeup.

  4. Gases in the air: 3) • Nitrogen makes up about 78% of the air we breathe. • Oxygen makes up about 21% • Other gases make up about 1%

  5. Dirty Air: 4) • Pollutants are released into the air by: • Human activities: • Burning fuel (ex. cars) • Industry • Smoking • Natural Events: • Volcanoes • Forest fires

  6. Layers of the Atmosphere: 5) • There are 4 layers of the atmosphere: • Troposphere • Stratosphere • Mesosphere • Thermosphere • Ionosphere • Exosphere
