  2. OCEAN AFRICA CONTAINER LINES • An independently operated joint venture between Safmarine and The Grindrod Group • Ocean Africa operates 8 vessels between Luanda in Angola and Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania • We are a common feeder operator carrying containers on behalf of all main line operators active in Southern Africa • We also cater to direct shipper requirements for ocean carriage within our port range utilising our fleet of around 6,000 containers

  3. OUR PRESENCE IN MOZAMBIQUE DAR MNC BEW MPM DUR • Three vessels weekly – Tugela / Sezela / Umgeni • Port rotation: DUR / MPM / BEW / MNC / DAR / MNC / BEW / MPM / DUR • Pemba on inducement

  4. OUR PRESENCE IN MOZAMBIQUE Mozline Mozline is a Mozambique domiciled shipping line catering to domestic cargo between the ports of Maputo, Beira and Nacala. Ocean Africa is the majority shareholder in Mozline

  5. THE ROLE OF THE FEEDER OPERATOR • CONNECTING MAPUTO TO THE HUB PORTS OF DURBAN, DAR AND PORT LOUIS. • IN MOST CASES WE WILL BE CONTRACTED BY THE MAINLINE OPERATORS TO CARRY THEIR CONTAINERS, WE WILL NOT OFTEN HAVE A DIRECT CONTRACTUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CARGO INTEREST • AS A COMMON CARRIER COMBINING THE FEEDER REQUIREMENTS OF SEVERAL MAINLINERS TO CREATE ECONOMY OF SCALE. • A WEEKLY FREQUENCY BETWEEN MAPUTO AND PORT LOUIS WILL REQUIRE 2 VESSELS ON A 14 DAY ROTATION. THIS REPRESENTS AN ANNUAL FIXED COST OF AROUND USD 14 MILLION.
