  1. Mrs. Johnson 7th/8th Grade Science Room 814Classroom Rules and Procedures The following discipline procedures will be used in class. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

  2. Classroom Rules • 1. Students are to bring all required materials and supplies to class each day. • 2. Students are to be in their seats, quiet, and ready to work when the tardy bell rings. • 3. Students are to follow directions the first time they are given. • 4. Students are to raise their hand to be recognized before speaking. • 5. Students are to remain in their seats unless given permission to get up. • 6. Students should not eat, drink, or chew gum in the classroom.

  3. Disciplinary Procedures • 1st offense- Warning • 2nd offense- Parent Notification/Bounce • 3rd offense- Teacher Intervention • 4th offense- Referral to the office • This procedure may be altered according to the severity of the offense!!!!

  4. Incentives • 1. Praise • 2. Parent contact • 3. Nomination for student of the month award • 4. Homework passes/game time

  5. Classroom Procedures

  6. Being Prepared Bring required materials each day. (Notebook, pen, pencil, colored markers, scissors, glue/tape) Writing Utensils Students may use a pencil or a pen Tests should be taken in pencil. Typed or computer generated work will be accepted with prior approval of the teacher. Being Prepared andWriting Utensils

  7. Entering Class After entering the room, students may not leave without permission. Students may not leave books and materials outside the classroom for any reason Upon entering, students should go to their assigned seats and prepare for class. Begin working on bell ringer. Instructions will be on Smartboard or whiteboard or front table. Exiting Class The teacher will dismiss the class Not The Bell. Do not pack books to exit class until instructed to do so by the teacher. Students are responsible for cleaning the area around their desks before leaving the room. Entering and Exiting Class

  8. Your Notebook Keep the following in your notebook: Class procedures, class notes, vocabulary assignments, worksheets, foldables, coloring sheets, etc. All materials must have your name on them. Notebooks will be checked randomly. This grade will count as a classwork grade. Your Notebook This will be the key to your success in this class and on the final exam. You should use your notebook every night. Study for at least 5-10 minutes nightly. Maintaining Your Notebook

  10. Restroom and Water Students should use the restroom and get water at the scheduled time. After entering the classroom, students will not be allowed to leave unless it is an extreme Emergency. Restroom and Water

Pencil Sharpening Students are to sharpen pencils upon entering the classroom If your lead breaks during class and if you have no other writing utensil, raise your hand and wait for further instructions. Trash Trash will be thrown away when your are dismissed from class. Keep it at your desk until you are dismissed. Pick up all paper around your desk before leaving the room.   12. Walking In The Hallways As A Class • Students are expected to walk in a straight line when in the hallway. • There will be NO TALKING in line. Other students are still in class. • All class rules apply in the hallway.

  13. PS JONES PROPS • Students will follow the rules as outlined at PS Jones school. Students will see the PROPS signs and matrix throughout the school building and classrooms. • Students are made familiar with the PROPS program the first few days of school and should remember throughout the school year. • An explanation of PROPS is also included in the • Student handbook.
