  5. I was born Deaf. I am the only Deaf in the family. I learned to paint when I was 6 years old.

  6. Today I live in Colorado, USA. We are here in Edmonton. I used to live in Washington State. I used to live in Upstate New York. I live in Colorado. I was born in California.

  7. My parents encouraged me to keep painting.

  8. I went to school to study art.

  9. These are my early paintings.

  10. Then I began to paint Deaf Art. My paintings are about Deaf experience.

  11. That is called “Deaf View Image Art.” A short name for De’VIA.

  12. De’VIA History • De’VIAwas first established in 1989, • by nine Deaf Artists. Almost 25 years ago.
