  1. Deactivate McAfee Virus Protection Temporarily We all install antivirus for our computer system’s security and McAfee is amongst the reliable name in the industry. From the system tray, double click on the ‘McAfee’ antivirus icon for accessing the McAfee antivirus control panel. b. For seeing the Navigation Center, on the McAfee main window click on the ‘Navigation’ link available at the top right side of the screen. c. For viewing the antivirus options, tap on the ‘Real-time Scanning’ link. d. Tap on ‘Turn Off’ button for accessing the Turn Off Window. e. From ‘When Do You Want to Resume Real-Time Scanning’ drop down menu choose an option. You can select from 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes for resuming or you can also resume while restarting the computer system. And if you choose ‘Never’, the antivirus protection will not work until it is enabled manually. f. For turning off the protection, click on ‘Turn Off’. You will receive a warning immediately on screen with message ‘Your Computer Is At Risk’ informing that your virus protection is disabled. g. Close the McAfee control panel after tapping on ‘Done’ button. But keep in mind that disabling virus protection can expose your computer system to multiple risks.
