Early childhood • Georgia O’Keeffe was born in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin in 1887. The second of seven children. • O’Keeffe longed to be an abstract artist from an early age
Middle Life • When Georgia was in high school she got typhoid fever, a deadly bacterial disease that made her hair fall out • She met a famous photographer named Alfred Stieglitz ,and he saw her art and put it up for everyone to see
Later Years • She married Alfred Stieglitz in 1924 • When her husband died she moved to New Mexico. She was best known for her large desert paintings of flowers and wild life • In 1997 a Georgia O'Keeffe museum was opened in her honor in Santa Fe ,New Mexico
