  1. Mission StatementAdvanced Fuel CellsImplementing Agreement WHO WE ARE: We are the only truly international, professional and vivid network on fuel cells. The Advanced Fuel Cells Implementing Agreement (AFC IA) operates within the IEA’s Energy Technology Network. The Executive Committee is comprised of representatives from every participating country and steers the Implementing Agreement. The IA oversees Annexes that are open to any candidate from the participating countries. The Annexes carry out specific tasks over a limited time. New participating countries are welcome and the Executive Committee of the Implementing Agreement accepts new members based on criteria specified by the IEA and the AFC IA. OUR AIM: To contribute to the research & development (R&D) of fuel cell technologies, deployment and dissemination thereof. WHAT WE DO: We foster and assess R&D and deployment of fuel cells on an international basisand convey key messages to the community, the IEA, policy makers and the public as appropriate. WHAT WE DELIVER: We deliver analyses of research priorities and disseminate these as appropriate. We release strategic outlines and position papers based on the project work of the Annexes and the Executive Committee and publish on technical and economical issues of fuel cells via refereed journal articles, books and booklets. WHY JOIN? Participating countries profit from the widest technical network worldwide through information exchange and the opportunity to link their people to the international community. People involved benefit from the work on the deliverables on a truly international scale. IA AFC EXCO Meeting Toronto 2012
