Accreditation History 1998 - Legislature passed Accreditation Act (Article 11, 44, 45 of Title 22 CRS) 1999 - Rules for Accrediting School Districts adopted 2001 - School Districts submitted their Accreditation Contracts 2007 - Original six year contract expired (June 2007) 2007 - Old Accreditation Contracts were extended for one year 2008 - New Rules for Accrediting School Districts adopted and old Accreditation Contracts extended through December 08 2008 - State Board of Education approves Accreditation Contracts by December 08

Our School Accreditation Process District 50 accredits schools based on the indicators described in the approved Accreditation Contract with the State • Educational Improvement Plan • CSAP Goals • Closing Achievement Gaps • Body of Evidence Assessments • Value-Added Growth • Compliance with Mandates • Accountability Reporting • Safe Schools • Colorado Basic Literacy Act (CBLA)

DAAC Recommendations • Hold all district schools harmless for the 2008-09 school year • Create a new school accreditation process that aligns with the criteria of the District Accreditation Contract with the State by December 2008. • In Spring 2009, determine the accreditation status of each school using the new process but continue to hold schools harmless for the remainder of the year. • Implement the new school accreditation process for the 2009-2010 school year.
