DoD DHA DHITS Conference • Department of Defense new agency Defense Health Agency (DHA) • Number of large procurements to replace EHR • Defense Medical Information Exchange (DMIX) • Defense Healthcare Management Systems Modernization Program (DHMSM) • Purpose of DHITS to provide guidance to the DoD Services on the direction of DHA Acquisition and Implementation • Gen. Robb – Keynote • Chris Miller – Keynote • DHMSM represents a $2.4B savings over MHS, “They have already taken it!”

  7. DoD DHA on Interoperability • Introduced OSEHRA IWG to DHA Leadership • DHA generally unaware of OSEHRA IWG • Offer to support leveraging OSEHRA IWG for future Interoperability challenges • Opportunity to provide briefing on Interoperability approaches

Open Source Convention (OSCON) • AEGIS participated in the Open Source Convention (OSCON) • OSCON is where all of the pieces come together: developers, innovators, businesspeople, and investors. • Observations • Government not represented enough (attended by Government) • CLA and License concerns along with Insurance weigh heavy on the community • Want to find out more about OSCON? How can we Align With Others OUTCOMES or when “Action turns into Results” • Publish White Papers • User Experiences, Approaches, and Integration of Standardsand Technical Challenges • Industry conference and panel participation • Align to other (OSEHRA) Work Groups/Projects • Develop Tools, Standardized Data Sets and a National Test Lab • The AEGIS Developers Integration Lab (DIL) Project • Support OHT efforts to Standardize National Test Patients • Support VistA Evolution and other SOA architectures Test Interoperability
