Forum Expectations • Overview of Format – presentations, Q&A, circles…. • Etiquette – yes, a quick review • What should I expect? Why am I going? etc…? • Answer: This is your industry – your profession. As a professional, know as much about your industry as possible. You need to be an expert. This is a self development process. • Will I get an internship/job offer at a Forum? • Answer: No. There is a lot more to the process. However, showing that you went and acquiring the knowledge at these forums will help your candidacy. • I’m stressed out about networking? Its such a hassle! • Answer: Calm down. Too often networking is directly associated to schmoozing. There are differences. Good networkers are knowledgeable and ask good questions. They build their knowledge network. Be a networker not a schmoozer. Be genuine, be authentic, and you will get the results you are looking for.
