Cathedral Primary School Spring 1 2014 Year 1 • Science • Light and Dark • Day and Night • The Sun • Numeracy • Times Tables • Multiplication number stories • Adding two digit numbers by partitioning • 3D shapes • PE • This term Class 1 will be having P.E lessons with the school’s specialist sports coach, Elliot. He will develop children’s skills across a wide range of activities, including cricket, tennis and football. • P.E. will be on Wednesday afternoon just for this term. • RE • Sharing • Bible Story – The feeding of the 5000 • Miracles in the Bible • Music • Songs from the Wizard of Oz musical • Percussion instruments • Literacy • Main class text: The Wizard of Oz • Using similes to enhance creative writing • Story sequencing and drama • Writing at length for a variety of purposes.
