I was pleasantly surprised at the level of thinking my students are capable of when they are not just regurgitating information back to me. We were genuinely excited at what some of the students produced and asked each other, “Did you read that?!”

The tasks made my students more willing to work through a project than they were in the past. They realize that writing is not instant. It takes work, but that’s okay.
