  3. Our Gethsemane • Job 14:1-2 – Man who is born of woman is of few days & fulloftrouble. 2 He comes forth like a flower & fades away; He flees like a shadow & does not continue.

  4. Our Gethsemane • Rom 9:2-3 – I have greatsorrow and continual grief in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh…

And Isaiah the prophet…said to him, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die, & not live.’” 2 Then he turned his face toward the wall, & prayed to the LORD, saying, 3 “Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth & with a loyal heart, & have done what was good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah weptbitterly.

  6. In Gethsemane • JESUS TURNED TO HIS FRIENDS (Disciples)– Matthew 26:36-38 • Prov 18:24 (nasu) – A man of too many friends comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. • Prov 17:17 – A friend loves at all times, & a brother is born for adversity.

In Gethsemane • JESUS PRAYED TO HIS FATHER– Luke 22:41, 43-44; Hebrews 5:7 • Jas 5:16 (amp) – The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working] • Eph 3:20 – To Himwho is able to do exceed-ingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

In Gethsemane • JESUS ACCEPTED HIS FATHER’S WILL– Luke 22:41-42 • Rom 15:3 – For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.” • Rom 8:28 – We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

  10. Overcoming Gethsemane • 2 Cor 2:14 – Now thanks be to Godwhoalwaysleadsus in triumph in Christ • 1 John 5:4-5 – For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — ourfaith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes [continues to believe] that Jesus is the Son of God?
