Who I am • Born: 1960 • Married with Ukrainian wife, 1 daughter • Languages: German, English , Russian, Spanish • Education • HTL, Steyr: Electronics and Telecommunications • Kepler University, Linz: Information Sciences & Economics • Working at • Several Software Companies • Self employed since 1991 • International Contacts • Member of 2 economic Missions to Ukraine • Customers in the whole German speaking area in Europe, Russia and Ukraine

Why Ukraine? • My wife is from Ukraine • I have a big family there • I have many contacts to • Ukrainian companies which want to EU • Austrian companies which deliver to CIS • Austrian and Ukrainian Colleges and Universities • Judge for the International Chamber of Commerce • I am interested in foreign Culture and Science • I speak Russian (Ukrainian only basics)

  7. Starting the Project • Finding a suitable university • Language Problems • Establishment of contact • Finding a responsible person

  8. Possible Problems I found • Political: • Orientation to Russia, away from EU • Fear of Foreign Experts • Social: • Fear of foreign Post Graduate Students • Administration • Bureaucracy • Language
