The Laws of Robotics • Isaac Asimov, a scientist and author (1940’s) • 0th Law: A robot should not injure humanity or allow humanity to come to harm. • 1st Law: A robot should not injure a human being or allow a human being to be harmed, unless an act violates the 0th Law. • 2nd Law: A robot should obey a human being unless it violates a higher order law. • 3rd Law: A robot should protect its own existence, unless a higher order law is violated.
