  2. I Learned . . . Complete this statement based on the concepts you learned today. Take 15 seconds to reflect and really think about everything that you experienced today. Complete this statement writing a detailed sentence that clearly describes your learning. You are allowed to write two or more sentences to further explain your thinking.

  3. 1 Sentence Summary Construct a ONE sentence summary that explains the most important thing about our lesson today.

  4. Two-Minute Writing Take 15 seconds to think about what you have learned today. You will have two minutes to write …..

  5. The Mirror Write a short reflection on what you learned today through this experience or lesson.

  6. Agree or Disagree Insert your question here. State your opinion and then explain why you agree or disagree.

  7. Visual Synectics How is this picture like what you learned today?

  8. Forced Association How is what we learned today like . . .

  9. Windshield Check Clear = I get it! Buggy = I understand it for the most part, but a few things are still unclear. Muddy = I don’t get it at all. Explain your thinking!

  10. Two Stars & a Wish What are two things you like about your partner’s work? What is one suggestion (or wish) for improvement on your partner’s work?

  11. The Fist to Five Use your hand to signal the depth of understanding after today’s lesson. I do not understand what we learned at all today. I understand completely!

  12. The Muddiest Point Write down one to two ideas that were the least clear (or a little muddy) today during our lesson.

  13. How does this fit into the Real-World? Jot down at least one to two real-world applications for what we learned today. How is this important to me outside of the classroom or how can this be applied in a real-world situation?

  14. Four Corners Based on your knowledge of _______, which corner would you choose? Corner 1: The Dirt Road– There’s so much dust I can’t see where I’m going . . . Help! Corner 2: The Paved Road– It’s fairly smooth, but there are many potholes along the way. Corner 3: The Highway– I feel fairly confident, but have an occasional need to slow down. Corner 4: The Interstate– I’m traveling along and could easily give directions to someone else. Choose a corner based on your level of expertise! Discuss your progress with others. Corner 1 meet with 3 & Corner 2 meet 4

  15. Whip Around & Pass Sticky Note Write down two or three answers to the following question: Type your question here. Very quickly, everyone will share one of the ideas on their sticky note as we go around the room. If your idea has been shared – you may pass.

  16. Circle Map Thinking Using the piece of paper provided, construct a Circle Map. Place the topic we have learned about today in the center of the circle. In the outer circle write down words and phrases that explain what you learned about this topic today.

  17. Make a list! 1. Make a list of the five most important words or short phrases that describe what you learned today. 2. Rank this list in order from the most important to the least. Start with 1 as the most important.

  19. Cash Out! Reflect on the passage, article, or video using the following questions. C = comprehension A = affective (causing emotion or feeling) S = surprise H = help

  20. I used to think . . . But now I know! We will now reflect on today’s learning. Quickly write a sentence that starts with: “I used to think ____________ about _______, but now I know ______________________.”

  21. Chain Notes Reflect on the passage, article, or video using the following questions. Questions: 1. 2. 3. When you get the note passed to you, respond to the question with one to two sentences. We will continue passing this paper along until I call time.

  22. Plus & Delta We will now think about our learning today. Let’s reflect on what went well (+) and what did not go so well( ). Write one thought per sticky note. At the top of each sticky write a plus (+) on one and a delta ( ) on the other. After you write your thoughts place your sticky on the front board in the appropriate place.

  24. Paint the picture Draw a picture that clearly illustrates what you have learned about _________________ today. Your picture will need to stand alone without words or labels.

  25. SOS S = Success (What have you learned that supports success in your learning?) O = On Target (What have you learned that is on target with your beliefs?) S = Synopsis (In three words or less, sum up today’s learning.)

  26. Road Signs I think today’s lesson is moving too fast for me. I’m really confused about my learning. I get what we are learning and ready to keep going. I understand and could help someone right next to me! I need help from the teacher immediately! I’m at a u-turn and need to start over again at the beginning. I need help from a partner in my classroom. I just need us to slow down a little without stopping.
