Seabasing as it Applies to US Africa Command • Most likely scenarios: • HA/DR, NEO, Counter Terrorism, Response to attack on US interest • US Africa Command IO campaign (limited US presence on the continent) • Africa is an ideal location for Proof of Concept activities • African challenges require Seabasing type capabilities • FY10 MARFORAF will OCE 3 exercises and participate in 3 others/ FY11 OCE 4 and participate in 2 others • AFRICAN LION 11 Joint Logistics Over the Shore (JLOTS) • APS • MEUs • BL: We could use it sooner rather than later
