  6. Cultural significance The story of Joseph: Favored and Cast Down is Aetiological, it explained why and how Joseph’s brothers let jealousy get to them and lead them to decieving their own flesh and blood. Or even when the master’s wife tried to seduce Joseph, when he didn’t give in and he said, “No..” she went and lied and made Joseph the bad person in the situation just because she couldn’t have her way. This story was also Instructional because it explain and told us, in a way, to not let jealousy get the best of you and not do as his brothers had did, nor what the master’s wife tried to do. But to have faith in the Lord, just as Joseph did, and trust in him and he’ll lead you in the right path.
