  1. Comenius PRELIMINARY PLAN PLUS ENERGY HOUSE I.T.I.S. “E.Majorana” - Martina Franca(TA) Italy Rev 0.7 08-05-12

  2. Comenius Multilateral school partnership 2011-1-DE3-COM06-19211-5 PLUS ENERGY HOUSE3° project meeting Martina Franca, Italy 8-11 May 2012 Partner of project • Berufsbildende Schulen des Landkreises Osnabrück in Bersenbrück, Germany • Egressy Ga'bor Ke'ttannylvü Müszaki Szakköze'piskola, Budapest, Hungary • Oguzeli Cok Programli Lisesi, Gaziantep, Turkey • ZSP Somonino, Somonino, Poland • ROC Friese Poort Sneek, Sneek, Netherlands • Spojená škola, Prešov, Slovakia • ITIS "E. Majorana", Martina Franca (TA), Italy

  3. Majorana plus energy house : preliminary plan The 24 sqm plus energy house in our preliminary project has to be built in accordance with the ten bio-architectural points, listed in our previous presentation in Sneek.

  4. 10 RULES FOR A MODERN GREEN ARCHITECTURE Build respecting the typical architecture of the territory Take in account the exposure, orientation and natural daylight Use Eco-friendly materials Ensure Impermeability and breathability Ensure Thermal insulation Low energy demand Energetic autonomy Water autonomy An Autonomous system of household waste disposal Automation and comfort

  5. Description of its environmental context The house is to be built in the Valle d’Itria, in a natural environment characterized by: -Mediterranean climate with poor rain and summer dryness and average winter temperatures of 6 °C and summer temperatures of 23 °C .

  6. Description of its environmental context Fertile soil with almost emerging limestone rocks and caves, deprived in its surface of water courses, in a mainly hilly landscape

  7. Description of its environmental contextTrees and bushes Natural vegetation typical of the Mediterranean hillside such as  ‘fragni’( quercus trojana, ), oaks (quercus ilex)  olives, arbutus, cistus, mastic, myrtle, almonds, cherries, figs, vines, laurel, wild pear

  8. Description of its environmental contextCultivations Prevailing cultivation of vines, wheat, forage

  9. Description of its environmental contextWeather and landscapes A tourist area offering  cool and windy weather and  beautiful natural landscapes , it has got wonderful natural landscapes and is highly inhabited.

  10. Description of its environmental contextThe socio-economic situation - It is dynamic thanks to the presence of a large number of factories that operate mainly in textiles, construction, tourism and farming - the nearby Taranto with its steel factory, one of the largest in the world, its naval bases and its largest seaport has contributed to the wealth of the local families.

  11. The house is a small summer house for two people with an internal surface of 24,00 sqm, divided in a multifunctional room, a small kitchen and a bathroom.

  12. Glass porch and natural shading On the southern side there is a glass porch covered with solar panels. In the hot seasons, this will be covered with a natural shading system, made of typical local climbing plants with summer florescence . On the western and eastern sides there are two pergolas with vine plants which are widespread in our territory.

  13. Perimeter walls The perimeter walls are made of 3 layers, in the middle there is a panel of cork and the external layers are made of local limestone extracted in quarries within a radius of 30 Km. These materials are eco-friendly and respect the old and traditional building techniques.

  14. The roof has an internal calcarenite flat vault and it is insulated and waterproofed with cork panels.

  15. Building FeaturesEnergy provision The house will be provided with - a photovoltaic system fully integrated in the architecture, - a micro wind power system, - a thermal solar plant fully integrated in the porch and of a geothermic system with heat pumps.

  16. Water provision Rainwater will be collected from the roof and treatment system for home usage will be provided as well as a sewage plant for the waste water.

  17. Domotics system Every technological system will be controlled by a remote domotics system. The building details and the specific technological systems will be defined later with an executive project.

Annual electrical energy producedEnergy produced by photovoltaic plant……... 3,300 kWhEnergy produced by aeolic plant…………...... 1,500 kWhTotal annual electrical Energy produced…… 4,800 kWhAnnual energy requirementHeating and cooling…….................................. 1,800 kWhHot water…………………….....................….... 700 kWhLightning…………………………………..…...... 200 kWhHousehold appliances………………………….. 500 kWhTotale energy requirement ……………………. 3,200 kWhEnergy Surplus 4,800 – 3,200 = + 1,600 kWh per yearConclusions : The calculation of the total Energy requirements is the result of the effective annual consumptions of each plant:- for the air-conditioning considering a plant of 1kw access power per 2,000 hours a year ( 5hrs a day , all year) - for the heating of the water considering an electrical boiler of 1 kW access (2 hrs a day ,all year)- for the lightning a 100 bulb switched on 5 hrs a day. Annual Energy balance

  21. The preliminary design consists of the following: Explanory report Dimension plan Equipped plan Plan of the outside area of the house N.1 tridimensional view of the house Estimate of cost
