  1. ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MOOB REDUCTION RECOVERY If you’re booked in for a moobreduction, it’s understandable you may be a little concerned about the recovery period. How long will you need to take off work? Will the recovery be painful? These are just a couple of the questions you may have. The good news is, male breast reduction surgery has come a long way over the years. These days, it is a fairly straightforward and quick procedure which provides fantastic results. Below, you’ll discover everything you need to know about moob reduction recovery. MOOB REDUCTION RECOVERY: BASIC AFTERCARE ADVICE If you want to prevent complications during recovery, it’s important to follow basic aftercare advice. Before you leave the clinic, you’ll typically be provided with painkillers and you’ll be told when your follow up appointment is. It’s important to ensure you do not change the dressing before your first follow up appointment.

  2. You should arrange for a lift home and ensure you get plenty of rest following the surgery. Gentle walking is advised however as this will help to prevent blood clots from forming, as well as reduce the swelling. You’ll also want to avoid salty foods as these can trigger the swelling to worsen. If you smoke, you’ll need to avoid this for two weeks following the surgery as smoking has been known to increase the risk of complications. It is also advisable to wear a compression vest for up to 3 weeks after the surgery as this will maximize the results. It’s recommended you avoid driving for 4-5 days and that you avoid using your arms as much as possible for 2 days after the surgery. HOW QUICKLY CAN YOU RETURN TO WORK AND WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT? This will depend upon the type of job you do. Most patients choose to take 1-2 weeks off work. If your job is strenuous, it is recommended you take at least two weeks off if you can. It’s likely to take a few weeks before you feel fully back to normal. It’s common to experience some pain or discomfort for a few days after the surgery. However, the pain medication prescribed should combat this. There will also be some level of bruising, particularly if you’ve had liposuction during the procedure. It’s also common for the bruising to get worse before it starts to disappear. As you can see, aftercare for a moob reduction is minimal. However, it is important that you follow the guidelines provided to you by your surgeon. Plenty of rest and allowing yourself time to recover will guarantee best results. Content Source
