  8. The Course • Swim from Rowing Club to Horse Shoe Bridge, exit at Emily Square • Transition Area – Emily Square • Cycle – 10km to Maganey (and back, twice) • Run – 5km out and back; Sprint with loops

  10. The Road Closure • In-force from 10:15 to 4:00 • Place your barrier across the junction and remain at the junction • Rationale? Safety of 4200 cyclists & 2000 runners. • Legally applied for and standing • Public Information Campaign this week • Emergency Access with Garda Assistance only (nearest back-road route only) • ABC - Always be courteous, but be firm. Suggest using back roads. • Coneyboro region – residents bus available to town • Any known special events

  11. Race Support Teams • TriAthy Marshall Team – 95 Volunteers • Civil Defence – (assume) 12 • Gardai – 25 Gardai • On-water safety team – Crew of 12 • 2 Ambulance Crews • Approx 150 people working together • Excellent Safety Ratio 1:8 • Excellent Distribution across course

Your Role • Ensure that competitors have a SAFE, FAIR and ENJOYABLE race at TriAthy • Safety • Active Marshalling – Be Seen, Be Heard • Keep Traffic off route • Keep Spectators out of the way • Be vigilant for accidents & incidents • Report all emergencies • Fairness • Watch for unsafe cycling • Rules of road and triathlon apply • Report race numbers for drafting and dangerous behaviour • Enjoyable Race • Make sure people know where they are going • Advance warning of turns / turnarounds
