2. Strategic Initiatives 1. Maximize the development of critical thinking, problem solving, and research skills of students within the context of the Curriculum Standards in the Independent Schools. 2. Increase the opportunities for students to learn about and engage in research outside the classroom (e.g., after school clubs, research centres, inter-school projects, international links) so that they appreciate the opportunities, pleasures and benefits that result from doing research. 3. Develop teachers who have the knowledge, skills, and disposition to engage in research to improve their teaching practices and their school communities. 4. Provide forums for disseminating, sharing, celebrating and rewarding student and teacher research • الارتقاء بتطوير مهارات التفكير الناقد وحل المشكلات والمهارات البحثية لدى الطلبة في سياق معايير المناهج في المدارس المستقلة إلى الحد الأقصى. • إتاحة مجال أوسع أمام الطلبة للتعرف على الأبحاث خارج نطاق الصف والمشاركة في هذه الأبحاث (مثل الأندية المدرسية خارج وقت الدراسة، مراكز الأبحاث، الأبحاث المشتركة بين المدارس، الروابط والعلاقات الدولية)، الأمر الذي من شأنه أن يجعلهم يقدرون الفرص والفوائد المتأتية من إجراء هذه الأبحاث. • تطوير المعلمين ممن يمتلكون المعرفة والمهارات والتوجهات للمشاركة في الأبحاث من أجل تحسين ممارساتهمالتعليمية والارتقاء بمدارسهم. • إيجاد دعم مجتمعي للأبحاث في المدارس المستقلة. • إنشاء منتديات لنشر أبحاث المعلمين والطلبة وتوفيرها للآخرين والاحتفاء بها ومكافأة أصحابها.

Strategic Initiative 1:Develop critical thinking, problem solving, and research skills within the curriculum • Professional development of teachers • Advanced Curriculum Standards Training for Science, Mathematics, and English teachers • Develop strategies for teaching skills essential to research • Conducted in two phases: Fall and Spring • Subject- and level-specific workshops • Over 200 teachers participating • Formal workshops followed by cluster meetings and school visits • Support the implementation of new teaching strategies • التطوير المهني للمعلمين : • برنامج معايير المناهج المتقدمة لمعلمي العلوم ، الرياضيات واللغة الانجليزية. • تطوير استراتيجية لتدريس المهارات البحثية الرئيسية. • تقدم على مرحلتين : مرحلة في الخريف ومرحلة في الربيع. • ورش عمل مقسمة على حسب المستوى الدراسي والمادة. • أكثر من 200 معلمة مشاركة. • ورش عمل متبوعة بزيارات للمدارس واجتماعات. • دعم تطبيق استراتيجيات التدريس الحديثة.

4. Strategic Initiative 2:Increase opportunities for students to learn about and engage in research outside the classroom • Development of hands-on training materials for students to teach the basics of research • Supported by Dr. Mary Kellett (Open University, UK) • Series of 12 lessons (teachers manual, student booklet, resource kit) in English and Arabic • Guide students in conducting independent research projects • Designed to be used in Research Clubs and Research Elective courses • Six Research Clubs and Research Elective Courses piloting the materials • Amna Bint Wahab Secondary School for Girls • Al Bayan Secondary School for Girls • Al Ieman Secondary School for Girls • Omar Bin Khatab Preparatory School for Boys • Qatar Preparatory School for Girls • Umm Al Qura Model School for Boys • تطوير منهج لتدريس الطلبة مهارات البحث الرئيسية • بدعم من د. ماري كيليت ( الجامعة المفتوحة – بريطانيا) • وحدة مكونة من 12 درس • توجيه الطلبة ودعمهم لعمل مشاريعهم البحثية الخاصة. • مصممة لتستخدم في اندية البحث أو كمقررات البحث الاختيارية. • ستة أندية بحث ومقررات بحث اختيارية تجرب المنهج : • مدرسة آمنة بنت وهب الثانوية للبنات . • مدرسة البيان الثانوية للبنات • مدرسة الإيمان الثانوية للبنات • مدرسة عمر بن الخطاب الإعدادية للبنين . • مدرسة قطر الإعدادية للبنات • مدرسة أم القرى النموذجية .

5. Strategic Initiative 3:Develop teachers who have the knowledge, skills, and disposition to engage in research to improve their teaching practices and their school communities • Provide Training in Action Research • Teachers • Principals (as part of Leadership Training) • Investigate issues and topics that are important to them • Instructional practices, student motivation and behaviour, parent involvement • Use evidence from action research to improve -- • Instruction • School policies and practices • تقديم تدريب في البحث الإجرائي : • للمدرسين • للمدراء ( كجزء من البرنامج التدريبي للقادة) • فحص المواضيع المهمة للمدرسة : • الممارسات التدريسية، سلوك ودافعية الطلبة ، مشاركة الأهالي في العملية التربوية . • استخدام الأدلة والنتائج التي تم الحصول عليها من البحث الإجرائي لتطوير : • التدريس • أنظمة المدرسة

Strategic Initiative 4:Build community support for research in the Independent Schools • Steering Committee • Eleven distinguished scholars and community leaders • They monitor RSDU plans and activities; offer advice • They open doors and assist students and teachers who are conducting research • Other community agencies who share our goals • Qatar Foundation • Qatar Scientific Club • Reach Out to Asia • اللجنة التوجيهية: • احد عشر شخصية بارزة من القادة و الاختصاصين في المجتمع . • يراقبون سير عمل لجنة الأبحاث ويوجهونها . • يقدمون الدعم والمساعدة للطلبة والمدرسين الذين يقومون بإجراء ابحاث. • مؤسسات المجتمع الآخرى التي تشاركنا أهدافنا : • مؤسسة قطر للعلوم والتربية • نادي قطر للبحث العلمي • مؤسسة أيادي الخير نحو آسيا

7. Strategic Initiative 5:Provide forums for disseminating, sharing, celebrating and rewarding studentand teacher research • First Annual Action Research Conference • Education Institute/Qatar University • Saturday, June 21 • Educators will share the results of their action research projects • School-based Student Research Fairs • This spring schools will arrange their own celebrations • Next year we hope to have a Student Research Fair and competition • المؤتمر السنوي الأول للبحث الإجرائي : • هيئة التعليم وجامعة قطر . • يوم السبت الموافق 21 يونيو • التربويون يتشاركون نتيجة ابحاثهم الاجرائية • معرض مدرسي لأبحاث الطلبة : • خلال هذا الفصل المدارس المشاركة ستنظم معرض خاص لأبحاث طلبتها. • السنة القادمة نأمل إقامة معرض ومسابقةلأبحاث الطلبة.
