  1. Brass

  2. How to Play A brass instrument • A brass instrument is played my someone buzzing their lips against a mouth piece.

  3. Trumpet • The Trumpet has valves. When the trumpet player pushes down a valve, it opens up a tube. • Each valve opens a tube of a different length. • This allows the trumpet to play all the notes of the scale

  4. French Horn • A French horn has its bell faced the opposite direction of the audience unlike all the other brass instruments. • A French horn player keeps one hand in the bell to soften the sound. • The French horn has valves to allow it to play all the notes of the scale

  5. Trombone • The sound of the trombone is lower. • Instead of having valves like the other brass instruments the trombone has a slide to change notes. • When the slide is pulled in, the tube becomes shorter and the sound goes higher. And vise versa

  6. Tuba • The tuba has four valves of different lengths. • The tuba is the largest of the brass family. • And has the lowest sound of all the wind instruments
