  4. Short Circuit • Sometimes a wire’s insulation breaks down or another problem develops that allows the electrons to flow through a device along a different path • It often causes an excess of current • The device will not work • Often causes and increase in heat and fire

  5. Short Circuit • When a power line has been severed and the flow of electrons has been interrupted • If you are in contact with the wire it will transfer the electrons and can kill you • The rubber on your tires will act as an insulator and stop the flow
