  2. OVERVIEW ON SUBMISSIONS TO FIRST CALL FOR PROPOSALS – TWO STAGE (STAGE 1) • 1681 proposals received • Eligibility checks ongoing • Distribution per topic is diverse

  3. BREAKDOWN OF PROPOSALS PER TOPICS

EVALUATION PROCEDURE: SIMPLIFIED STAGE 1 • Remote only • About 750 experts, no final number yet but we aim for at least 40 % women and appropriate country and public/private balance • Individual evaluation by five experts per proposal • No consensus but median score per criterion • Total score = median score criterion 1 + median score criterion 2 • Standard sentences for ESRs of rejected proposals • Invitation letter for full proposal without ESR to successful coordinators (as under FP7)

  5. COMMUNICATION OF RESULTS • Feedback to successful coordinators/PC: Mid May • Feedback to unsuccessful coordinators/PC: End May • Presentation of results at next PC meeting (20 June)

  6. SECOND STAGE EVALUATION • Evaluation stage 2: second half of August and September • NEW as compared to FP7: • Gender and sex differences need to be taken into account and properly addressed in the scientific part of the proposal and will be evaluated • Higher emphasis on impact • No grant negotiation: proposals need to be very good and present realistic budgets in relation to the workproposed
