Empowering Young Women for Future Challenges

Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) in District Chiniot aims to provide economic and social empowerment to disadvantaged youth, particularly young women, through skills and livelihoods training.   2. Vision & Mission for Skills & Livelihoods Vision: Provide economic and social empowerment to disadvantaged youth through skills and livelihoods. Mission: To reduce poverty through extension of skills and economic opportunities particularly for young women as competent trained entrepreneurs across Pakistan.

Implementing Methodology • Recruitment in given geographies by ITA - • Recruitment in villages: door to door; School Head/LHW – trainers ; 2-3 team members • School identification through the Dept of Education /DCO • - Visit to the school head , give leaflet /NOC from schools dept;/ provide orientation and agree on the space if appropriate • School girls from 9/10th who have taken exams waiting for results can be allowed to join for 50% discount. • Find Trainers- Visit TEVTA office /MOUin hand and identify certified trainers - interview ensure active and communicative other than skill • Prepare Labs (as per inventory) – visibility charts - ensure cleanliness, standees , all stock in place with register of inventory

(A) Targets & Challenges & Achievements 2012 Vigorously promoting a three pronged program of education, skills and livelihoods for poverty reduction and human dignity in Punjab targeting youth and adults. For this purpose ITA take the initiative with collaboration of TEVTA & UNILIVER A core business model in the value chain. An extensive program through which Guddi Bajis earn two ways 1) By selling Unilever brands 2) Extending beauty services . Targeted Graduates – self paid & sustained Nominal fee Rs. 1500-2000 for 3 months trades In 2012 who have established two labs in District Chiniot. GGHS Satellite Town GGHSS Bhawana

Liasioning With Line department • Memorandam of Understanding (MOU) is made between Idara-e-Taleem-o-Agahi (ITA) &Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) to promote Technical and Vocational Education in the Punjab. • Mettings were arranged with different Govt officials i.e EDO Education and DM TEVTA

  7. Targets & Challenges & Achievements 2013 A core business model in the value chain. An extensive program through which Guddi Bajis earn two ways 1) By selling Unilever brands 2) Extending beauty services . Targeted Graduates– self paid & sustained Nominal fee Rs. 1500-2000 for 3 months trades even we give admission to the deserving trainees without fee.   8. Case Study of Chenab Nagar Center 2013 Kanwal is a young girl. She belongs to Chenab Nagar District Chiniot.She has a three sister and no brother. So there is big problems with her family because she is belongs to a poor family. Kanwal decided to make her family life better and change the destiny into which she was born. Once she earned her diploma in beautician course she became a sufficient young girl earning 5000 per month by beautician. She has a one chair and she decorate her room with the beautiful pictures. One day she went to a Nusrat jahan Girls Women College and some others academic tuition centers to publish her beauty parlor.

  9. Enterprise Development Training Program • To improve the business skills of students 6 days trainings were arranged in Kalowal and Chenab Nagar labs in which 38 students were trained
