  1. 7th Grade Registration 2014-2015

  2. What is different in 7th grade? • You can choose between PE or Athletics. • You can choose any two electives you’d like. • You will have more homework and more responsibility. • Teacher’s expectations are higher.

  3. 7th grade schedule • 70/70 split for math and language arts • 1 science, 1 social studies • PE or Athletics • 2 electives

  4. Core Subjects • All pre-AP courses require a parent signature • Language Arts: -Signatures are required for GT and Pre-AP -Summer reading is required for Pre-AP Language Arts • Math: -7th grade Pre-AP math pathway is continued from 6th grade Pre-AP math

  5. Athletics • A physical is required in order to participate. • You can try out for competitive sports. • Boys: football, basketball, cross country, track, tennis and soccer. • Girls: volleyball, basketball, cross country, track, tennis and soccer. • You will participate in off season if you are not on a competitive sports team.

  6. Electives • You can choose 2 electives to participate in. • You will need approval for: choir, band, and orchestra. • We will only switch elective classes the first 10days of the school year.

  7. Electives continued Office, Counselor and Library Aide: ***Preference is given to 8th graders, however we will have minimal spots open for 7th graders.*** • Applications: • You will need to complete an application for counselor aide, office aide, library aide, one act play, media, yearbook and peer mediation. You can get these applications in the counseling center.

  8. Finally… • Registration forms must have appropriate signatures by March 28th. • All registration forms and applications (peer mediation, aide positions, media and yearbook) need to be turned in by March 28th.
