Congruent Angles- Angles with the same measures – The rays do not have to be the same lengths • Vertical Angles- Angles formed by intersecting lines (opposite angles are congruent) • Supplementary Angles- Two angles that have a sum of 180° • Complementary Angles- Two angles that have a sum of 90°

  3. To find missing angles Write an equation based on the properties of the angles you are given. Example 1) What type of angles are these? Supplementary x + 42 = 180 -42 -42 x = 138° 42 x

  4. What type of angles are these? x 70 x + 70 = 90 -70 -70 x = 20° Complementary The missing angle is 20°.

  5. The three angles form a straight angle so they add up to…. 2x 3x x x + 2x + 3x = 180 6x = 180 6 6 x = 30 So the angles are 30°, 60°, & 90°. 180°
