  1. National and International Government Impacts

  2. Imports • Goods or services that were produced abroad • When a country receives a good from a foreign country, it is importing the goods

  3. Exports • Goods or services produced locally and sold abroad. • When a country sends a good to a forgein country, it is exporting the good

  4. Agricultural Global Sales • Occurs when foreign countries buy and sell agricultural goods from one another. • What are some agricultural goods that go through global agricultural sales? Think of the U.S.’s exports to other countries. • Ex: wheat, cotton, tobacco, and animal products just to name a few

  5. Subsidy • Is a form of financial assistance paid to a business or economic sector • Most subsidies are made by the government to producers or distributors in an industry to prevent the decline of that industry • Examples: encourage the sale of exports, subsidies on some foods to keep down the cost of foods.

  6. You are a dairy farmer and the government has threatened to no longer subsidize your farm • How will this affect your farm, your business, your family?
