Let’s Debate! • Class debate addressing the following topic: • The impact of technology on interpersonal communication. • Topics discussed during the debate will include topics we have discussed in class (e.g. self disclosure, close relationships, culture) • One side will argue that technology has a positive impact; one side will argue that technology has a negative impact. Sides will be chosen randomly. • Use the rest of class to prepare (will also require prep outside of class; bring notes) • Debate takes place on Wednesday/Thursday (will take a few minutes before debate to finalize things) • Will count as Application Exercise #14

Also, assign someone to deliver the opening remarks and closing argument. You are not allowed to interrupt anyone while they are speaking. Decide – Who will make opening remarks?
