  3. Cell Phones • Between 8:00am –2:39pm – not allowed • Turn them off and lock them in locker • First time warning and confiscated in office • Second time confiscated and parent comes in to pick-up • Third time – possible ISS or OSS • Same rule applies for Ipods and MP3 players

  4. Cell Phones • Cameras • The use of cameras, including cell phone cameras, to take pictures or videos of students, faculty, visitors, and staff without their expressed consent is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, students taking photographs or videos of others will results in disciplinary action in the form of harassment. (See Harassment in handbook)

  5. Social Networking Sights • Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, AIM, • etc. • Pros • Cons • Advice

  6. Hall Passes • Use your agenda • Think ahead for a pre-signed pass • Pass restriction – no passes until you are off the list

  7. Gum Chewing • No gum allowed in school

  8. Lockers • Keep them clean • Please don’t rig locker • If you have a problem go to office

  9. Assemblies • Quiet as you enter auditorium • Be respectful • Listen and be quiet during presentation • Sit straight and keep feet off seat ahead of you

  10. Study Halls • Always bring work • Bring reading book • Study halls are academic • Be quiet so everyone may work quietly • If talking is allowed use “library voices”

  11. Emergency Drills • Lock-down drills – “We are in Lockdown” listen to your teacher’s directions • Fire drills- Quietly listen to your teacher and exit building

  12. Nurse’s Office • Location- Opposite side of M.S Cafeteria • Mrs. Bortnick and Mrs. Letourneau • Make sure you get a pass to nurse’s office • Options: Go back to class, rest in nurse's office, go home. • If Nurse's office closed- go to M.S Office

  13. Crosswalks • Use crosswalks to access front parking lot • Use cross walk when exiting to back fields for P.E. class. • Do not walk between busses

  14. Bus Notes • Get bus notes into office early • Don’t make plans late in the day – make your plans the night before

  15. Bus Behavior • Follow all school rules • Sit in your seat and listen to directions of bus driver • If you have a problem, talk to your driver, if problem continues, see Ms. McNeil or Mr.Brandell • All buses have videos

  16. Before and After School Activities • Sports • Clubs • Do not stay unless you participate in a sport or you have joined a club • Stay where you are suppose to stay • In the AM do not arrive before 7:30am without specific permission

  17. After School Detention • Location: M.S Cafeteria • Time: 2:45-3:45 • Monitor: Mr. Paola and Ms. Ducharme • Always bring something to do • No sleeping • No skipping – If you have an appointment have a parent write, or call school

  18. Announcements Am/Pm • Please stand for the Pledge • Listen to Word of the Week, Literary Term of the Week, and Graphic Organizer of the Month • Listen to all announcements • Send any announcements to Mrs. Fewster

  19. Attendance • Students who have good attendance do better in school – Don’t miss unless you are ill or have an appointment • If you are absent be sure to have your parent/guardian call in before 9:00am • When you return bring a note into office

  20. Dress Code • No chains • No drug/alcohol clothing • No hats • No short skirts or spaghetti straps • If you aren’t sure if it is legal ask ahead of time • School Dress code applies at NCCS dances

  21. Public Display of Affection (PDA) • No kissing or hugging • No hand holding

  22. Breakfast • Get in cafeteria and get in line when you arrive • Eat breakfast in cafeteria • No food or drinks in halls • Leave cafeteria by 8:15am

  23. Body Piercing • Not allowed in P.E. • Not allowed in P.E./Swim • Get piercing done in summer

  24. Bookbags/Backpacks • All backpacks go in lockers • No large purses with straps • Keep backpack neat and organized

  25. Bullying • No teasing • No name calling • No pushing • No shoving • Be aware of “cyber” bullying • Be kind to everyone

  26. Plagiarism • Do your own homework • Do your own classwork • Do your own projects • Ask before you work together • Be careful how you “cut and paste”

  27. Lunchroom Etiquette • Wait in line patiently • Always use good manners • Clean up after yourself • Use an appropriate voice level • Stay in your seat
