  2. DIVIDE MULTIPLY Multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 10 = 1 place 100 = 2 places 1000 = 3 places

Multiples and Factors Multiple (Basically) the times tables… e.g. the multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9 etc the multiples of 12 are 12, 24, 32 etc Factors Whole numbers that divide into a number (no decimals!) e.g. the factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12 the factors of 30 are 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15 and 30

  4. Prime Numbers A number that can be divided by only one and itself (Basically… it has NO factors other than 1 and itself) e.g. 7 is a prime number but 9 isn’t as 3 is also a factor! 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, …

  5. Easy steps for identifying a prime number!! • Learn the first 5 at least! ... 2, 3, 5, 7 and 11 • All primes (except 2 and 5) all end in either 1, 3, 7, or 9 • Therefore if you want to find the prime numbers between 30 and 40, • the only possible numbers are 31, 33, 37 or 39 • Next… divide each number by 3 and 7 • If the number doesn’t divide by either, then the number is prime! • e.g. • 31÷3 doesn’t divide exactly! • 33÷3= 11 • 37÷3 doesn’t divide exactly! • 39÷3 = 13 • Therefore only 31 and 37 are primes!! 31÷7 doesn’t divide exactly! 33÷7 doesn’t divide exactly! 37÷7 doesn’t divide exactly! 39÷7 doesn’t divide exactly!

Ordering Decimals… 3 Easy steps Step One Add 0’s onto each decimal until each decimal has the same number of decimal places Step Two Ignore the decimal points, view them as whole numbers and the put them in size order Step Three Now they are in size order, rewrite them with their decimal points!

Order the following decimals smallest to largest: 0.067, 0.00943, 0.6942, 0.01239 Step One Add 0’s onto each decimal until each decimal has the same number of decimal places Step Two Ignore the decimal points, view them as whole numbers and the put them in size order Step Three Now they are in size order, rewrite them with their decimal points! 0.06700 0.00943 0.69420 0.01239 0.067 0.00943 0.6942 0.01239 6700 943 69420 1239 943, 1239, 6700, 69420 0.00943, 0.01239, 0.06700, 0.69420
