  2. When you think of IMAX what do you picture? A movie of your choice on a gigantic screen where it seems so clear and realistic that characters just pop out at you? Lets investigate…

  4. What is IMAX? IMAX is a motion picture film format which has the capacity to record and display images far greater size and resolution than conventional film systems.

  5. The IMAX system was developed by Graeme Ferguson, Roman Kroitor, Robert Kerr, and William C. Shaw and the first IMAX film, Tiger Child, was shown in 1970. Originally in the United States, IMAX theaters mainly were used in museums and science theaters. IMAX films are far more costly but the experience is well worth it!

  6. Today, there are approximately 528 IMAX theaters around the world that show IMAX 3d, HD, and DMR films.

  7. Avatar brought in $9.5 during the opening weekend in imax theaters alone!

  8. Warren imax theater in Wichita Kansas which holds the record for the largest imax screen measuring 100 feet wide

  9. Imax theaters are constructed with steep angles so the viewer can watch forward rather than upward
