Why Do I Have to Pay the Students Activities Fee? • Student Activities Fee - $80/semester • Support clubs & organizations around campus financially • Allow clubs and organizations to host events and provide services for the entire USF Community • Enhancing your learning experience at USF (outside of the classroom – Opportunity for involvement & participation)

But Who Decides Who Gets What? ****The Finance Committee*** • VP of Business Administration –Committee Chair (non-voting) • 3 ASUSF Senators • 5 Students At-Large • Members upon recommendation of ASUSF Interview Committee (appointed by ASUSF Senate) • ASUSF Senate President (non-voting) • Director of SLE and Associate Director of SLE • In charge of allocating funds to all funded accounts in April • Any undergraduate student may apply • VP of Business Administration – Finance Committee Chair • Students decide!

What is the Process to Request Money? • In March, funded accounts starts putting their budgets together • Detailed, line item budgeting • In April, they presents to the Finance Committee • Questions & Deliberation from the Committee to come up with an awarded budget • Each organization have at least three (3) days to submit a written appeal to the Finance Committee. • Appeals and finalized budgets present to Senate by May. • Changes to budget during the year through Line Item Change Process (via-Orgsync)

  11. Additional Information • Finance Committee tracks participation through Budget Stipulations • Effort to increase accountability among Funded Accounts and members • Quarterly Reports (Orgsync) • 1-1 meetings • Reports to Senate • FC members contact with Funded Accounts Executives

  12. What if my organization is a club instead of a funded account? Don’t worry, you see the money too! • Club Funding • The money provides development opportunities for the organization, which may include office supplies, membership recruitment activities, staff development, and organization or conference dues. • $400/Semester • Evaluated by the Peer Advising Team on a weekly basis Club Funding Superfund

Superfund • Allocates money to clubs and organizations (non-funded accounts) when proposals from these clubs are turned in • The Superfund Committee consists of 7 voting members (not including VP of Business Administration, VP of Public Relations, the Superfund Committee Advisor) • When club/org needs money for an event they want to host for the USF Community, they send in a proposal (Orgsync) and present to the committee • The Committee deliberate and award the money • NOTE: Both Superfund & Finance Committees are committees of SENATE (Senate has final approval)

  15. Additional Information • Meeting: Mondays 12:00 pm – 1:20 pm • Informational Packet available in UC 100 • 6 weeks minimum for submission • Suggestion: If your proposal > $5000, with contracts, 12 weeks • Reminder: No reimbursements for funds spent prior to Superfund approval

How do I benefit if I’m not in any organization? • Los Locos – Midnight Madness • Hui ‘O Hawai’I & Hawaiian Ensemble – Lu’au & Ho’ike • CAB – Homecoming Concert • College Players – Awesome plays • Foghorn – Free newspaper • USFtv – Free Television All of these events are free or available at a small cost for USF Students. How else would you justify paying only $5 to see Wyclef perform? 

What happens if Funded Accounts don’t use all budgeted amount, it remains in the ASUSF Account • ASUSF Reserve is used for big ASUSF initiatives (Safety shuttles, Lockers, Muni etc.) • Voice your ideas to Senate representatives (What do you want do to with the ASUSF Reserves?) • Apply to be a Finance Committee member and decide how ASUSF should allocate funding
