  5. Why did you participate?LLC Pre-Test Fall 2012 (266 total respondents out of 650) • To meet people with similar interests • Interested in topic of class • To get involved on campus • To develop a positive peer group

  6. 2012 Feedback • “I feel living in a LLC is a great advantage due to the face that I am surrounded by fellow Architecture majors every day. The people around me are generally all in the same classes as me so we are able to work on homework together and discuss assignments from class that we may not have fully grasped without them”(Student) • “The ASL LLC is wonderful! I enjoy being around other people who use ASL. We have a lot of fun :).” (Student)

StakeholderExpectations - Instructors • Course development matching learning outcomes. • Work with academic advisors and course schedulers for marketing and registration. • Provide syllabus to LLC Mentor and RA. • Meet with LLC Mentor and RA one time each month to provide insight and guidance into the facilitation of co-curricular programs. • Connect with the students on an individual basis through office hours, co-curricular programming, etc. • Attend all required staff meetings, retreats, and trainings.

StakeholderExpectations - Mentors • Stay connected to the students assigned to the LLC, help make them aware of resources, by hosting weekly office hours in the residence halls. • Attend the course, as communicated by the instructor/faculty, to provide in-person updates, discuss study skills, provide program information, etc. • Meet with the RA an additional time each month for planning and discussion purposes. • Utilize MAP-Works (Making Achievement Possible) • Blog once a month on LLC blogspot per the provided guidelines. • Meet with LLC stakeholders one time each month to help facilitate 3 co-curricular programs each semester as well as 1 service learning project within the year.

StakeholderExpectations - RAs • Lives on the same floor as the LLC students and can answer all the questions about living in the residence halls, mediating roommate conflicts, etc. • Utilize MAP-Works (www.map-works.com) • Meet with the Mentor an additional time each month for planning and discussion purposes. • Blog once a month on LLC blogspot per the provided guidelines. • Meet with LLC stakeholders one time each month to help facilitate 3 co-curricular programs each semester as well as 1 service learning project within the year.

StakeholderExpectations – Residence Life Coordinator Lana • Directly supervise RAs • Regularly work with LLC RA to assess community needs and help RA and Mentor to develop interventions and programming accordingly, utilizing MAP-Works. • Point of contact if there are student concerns that require follow up from a professional University Housing staff member. • General facilities-related issues, including room reservations. • Provide programming and funding information to LLC Coordinator and Learning Community Graduate Assistant. • Meet with the LLC stakeholders once a month.
