  2. Abstract Watercolor Objective: You will use knowledge of compositional strategies in order make an abstract watercolor that demonstrates a verb or phrase. DRILL: Thursday and Friday- just get started. Today- learn abstract watercolor- work on watercolor or acrylic. • Get a cup of water, brush for watercolor, and newspaper square for drying brush. • We will look at a few ideas for showing action or concepts in abstract painting. • Goal: To pick one or more of Richard Serra’s phrases or verbs and attempt to make an artwork that shows that word.

Learn 3-5 facts. • Non-objective Acrylic painting with successful composition. • Non-objective Watercolor piece demonstrating Richard Serra’s verbs. • 15 pages in altered book. (3 required goals- • Draw a person from observation. • Imitate an artist’s style or culture. • The study of something.
