  4. What is a Wiki? • Hawaiian phrase, “wiki-wiki’ ~ means Quick • A Web 2.0 tool that encourages cooperative and collaborative learning. http://webtools4u2use.wikispaces.com/Wikis

  5. Encourage Cooperative Learning • In Education, teachers can have classroom Wiki’s that allow for only student participation. • Positive interdependence of work • Individual accountability • Face-to-face, or digital communication • Social Skills • Final product is a combination

  6. Encourage Communication Skills • Groups work together to create a digital report on a topic. • Participants are able to: • Edit their own work and others’ in the group • Support others by leaving comments • Track who participates

  8. Digital Portfolio • Students can create their own Wiki to maintain their work. • Paperless classroom • Students are able to link personal Wiki to classroom Wiki
