Lesson Learned • We learned that there are 18 teams developing QA systems for European languages other than English • We learned that we have to learn more from the multilingual QA campaign: • More attention to measure system’s progresses (e.g. run the system on the previous years data introducing an automatic scoring) • More about QA in general: we are now ready to explore variations of the TREC task (e.g. the role of context in QA) • More about QA in the multilingual setting (e.g. translating questions from one language to another) CLEF 2004 Workshop Bath – September 16, 2004
