NILP OFFERS A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS FOR TRANSITION AGE YOUTH PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRANSITION SERVICES (PRE-ETS) Target Population •High school or post-secondary education students ages 14-22 •Enhance work readiness skills •Connection to Peers •Career Exploration TRANSITION TO ADULTHOOD PROGRAM (TAP) Targeted Population •High school students ages 14-22 Academic Year Program •In-school independent living skills groups •In-school individual transition planning BENEFITS OF THE YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM Services Offered •Workplace Readiness Training •Job Exploration Counseling •Work-Based Learning Experience •Self-Advocacy/Peer Mentoring •Counseling on Post-Secondary Education and Training Programs Summer Program •POWER Project: Preparation, Opportunity, Wisdom, Empowerment, Responsibility •Five-week program, Monday through Friday •Develop work readiness skills •Increase social and communication skills •Build self-esteem and self-confidence •Peer Support •Build self-advocacy skills Program Outcomes •Increase awareness of the world of work and their own employment interests, skills and needs •Provide exploration and exposure opportunities related to work experience •Prepare students for employment and postsecondary success •Develop and increase basic independent living skills
