How do we achieve this ? • Key roles of Appointments • To ensure that we always appoint the best quality & suitable referee to every fixture. • Appointment Committee: • Appointment Sec’s • Society Assessor Development Officer • New role of: • “Director of Training & Development” • Geoff Warren

  5. How do we achieve this ? • Total focus upon Training & Development • Allow every referee to develop to their potential to be their best • Facilitate the (T&D) support necessary • You get out what you put in. • “Ask not what your Society can do for you” • “But what can you do for your Society”

Director of Training & Development • Main role is that of Co-ordinator • Introduce a clear development Pathway • Introduce a club training programme • Independent role means members have a point of liaison • Members’ feedback will be crucial • Agreed a “trial” of role. • Review at end of season.

  7. So what’s it going to look like? • Format of meetings: • More focus upon Training & Development • Clear Pathway to progression • Referee’s ownership of their Development • Referee Personal Development Plan • Transparency & Consistency

  8. How do enhance our reputation amongst the Clubs? • Support for Club Referees • Training • Talks • Coaching How will this benefit Rugby? • Better Players • Better Referees • Increase Society Membership
