This Very Important Stuff is Complicated! • Yes, VIS (Very Important Stuff) impacts life and business operations in many ways • Making major decisions as one does in VIS requires multiple action steps and probably several people to hold accountable • VIS does not easily conform to a single goal worksheet • VIS may become Over-Arching Objectives for a year or even more • VIS may be supported by a structure of quarterly operational objectives and goals • Quarterly objectives will challenge your leadership and accountability skills Les Deck Consulting | les@lesdeckconsulting.com | 630 697 0739

  6. Let’s Prepare to Set Over-Arching VIS Objectives • First, divide into groups of three. • In your triad: Discuss short term VIS you are considering. Everyone share for a total of 20 minutes • Spokesperson report out to the group (2 minutes) • In your triad: Discuss long term VIS you are considering for 2019. Again Everyone shares. Now Let’s Set a Couple of VIS Objectives In place • Take 20 minutes • Use the provided VIS forms and write up one short term(one to six months to complete) • Write one long term (takes at least a year and has more moving parts) Use a second VIS form • Report out in brief format to group • Hand in to <presenter name here>.
