  5. Syllogism Example • Major Premise: All men are mortal. • Minor Premise: Socrates is a man. • Conclusion: Therefore, Socrates is mortal.

  6. Legal Syllogism Example • Major Premise: Theft of any item valued over $150 is a class "C" felony. • Minor Premise: Client stole a television worth $200. • Conclusion: Therefore, because $200 is more than $150, Client’s theft of the TV is a class “C” felony.
