Background info. • Monica was born on October 24, 1980 • Monica was born in College Park, Georgia. • Her parents are M.C Arnold and Marilyn Best. • Her parents divorced in 1987 • Her mom later remarried Rev. Edward Best • She has one brother, Montez, from her moms latest marriage. Monica and her brother Montez

How she became famous!!!! • Monica began singing at the age the age of two at her church, Jones Hill Chapel United Methodist Church in her moms hometown of Newman, Georgia. • She began traveling with the churches gospel group at the age of 10. • In 1991 Monica was discovered by music producer Dallas Austin at the Center Stage Auditorium in Atlanta performing, Whitney Houston's “Greatest love”

Interesting facts • At the age of 10, Monica was the youngest member of Charles Thompson and the majestic's • Monica is cousins-in-laws to rapper Ludacris through her moms second marriage to Reverend Edward Best. • She is also cousins with rapper/producer Polow da Don. • Queen Latifa was Monica's first manager. Monica and cousin Polow da Don Monica and cousin Ludacris

  5. her family life • Monica was engaged to rapper, Rodney Ramone Hill Jr. also known as Rocko da Don, for two years. They later separated in 2009. • Together they had two handsome sons, Rodney Ramone Hill III and Romelo Montez Hill. • Romelo got his middle name from Monica's brother, Montez.

  8. Her albums After the storm, a retooled version of All eyez on me, was released in 2003. Her debut album, Miss Thang, was released in 1995. The makings of Me was released in 2006 selling only 323,000. All eyez on me was released in 2002 in Japan causing an international spark. Her follow- up album to Miss Thang was The boy is Mine. Which Sparked controversy between her and singer Brandy. Still Standing was released in 2010
