  2. UCSF CTSI-CEPAims • Facilitate clinical research partnerships • Increase amount, quality and validity of clinical research • Increase impact of clinical research

UCSF CTSI-CEPSteering Committees • Community Member Partnerships Committee will link UCSF with community-based organizations, individual stakeholders, and other community-based non-clinical settings (i.e. schools) • Practice-based Research Network Committee will link UCSF with clinicians from public health clinics, non-UCSF medical centers and clinicians in private practice • Integrated Delivery Systems Committee links UCSF with the clinicians in integrated delivery systems, beginning with Kaiser Permanente • Diffusion and DisseminationCommittee increases discourse and effective practice of research dissemination to end users

UCSF CTSI-CEPStrategies • Develop systems for linking researchers and community partners • Navigators: outreach, gatekeeping, regulatory protocols • Develop information systems • Virtual home: database, inventories, resource library • Provide training in collaborative and translational research • Computer and classroom-based curricula

  5. UCSF CTSI-CEP Accomplishments • Hired “Navigators” at UCSF and Kaiser Permanente • Convened Steering Committees • Formed KP-UCSF Collaborations Committee • Begun needs assessments of community and clinicians • Begun consultation services • Developed plans for shared databases and linked websites • Developed streamlined application process for Advisory Committee review • Submitted proposal for clinician program development
