  2. What is hyperventilation? • AKA overbreathing • Breathing excess of what the body needs • Rapid or deep breathing is sometimes seen in very serious conditions such as Infection, bleeding, or heartattack

  3. Cause • People with asthma and mouth-breathing can get hyperventilation • Numerous medical conditions, such as lung diseases, asthma, pneumonia and other lung infections, cardiac diseases, bleeding, head injury, coffee abuse, and strokes can trigger this syndrome

  4. Bad posture, ergonomics at work, and occupational overuse syndrome often are cause of hyperventilation. • Anemia may stimulate breathing rate due to deficit of RBC

  5. Symptom • Dizziness • irregular heart rhythms • heavy breathing accompanied by sensations of exhaustion • Tiredness • panic attacks • feelings of tightness in the chest, shakiness, and perspiration

  6. treatment • Exercise • Learn breathing exercises that help you relax and breathe from your diaphragm and abdomen • Breathe through your nose into a paper bag to increase carbon dioxide exhalation and immediately re-inhale the exhaled carbon dioxide
