  2.  2005 : CREATION OF A WALLOON COMMISSION FOR TOURIST GUIDES COMPOSED OF GUIDES, GUIDE EMPLOYERS, TRAINING OFFICES, WALLOON DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM (COMMISSARIAT GENERAL AU TOURISME) WORKING FOR A MINISTERIAL INSTRUCTION (2006) : • MECANISM OF OFFICIAL RECOGNITION OF TOURIST GUIDES. • ADVICE COMMISSION FOR TOURIST GUIDE RECOGNITION (RECOGNITION BY THE CHIEF OF THE WALLOON DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM) PREPARING TEXTS OF LAW (2012).

  3. TODAY 437 RECOGNIZED GUIDES (BY THE WALLOON REGION). DIFFERENT TOURIST GUIDES – 7 DIFFERENT CATEGORIES : CONDITIONS OF RECOGNITION : • (6 categories) : qualification ; • 3 years of attestedguiding.

  4. 7 DIFFERENT CATEGORIES : • CONFERENCE GUIDE (GUIDE CONFERENCIER) (master and aggregation) ; able to guide in walloonmuseums or picturesque sites ; • REGIONAL GUIDE (GUIDE REGIONAL) (Diploma of regionaltourist guide) – able to guide everywhere in the WalloonRegion ; • HIKING GUIDE (GUIDE ACCOMPAGNATEUR EN RANDONNEE) (Diploma of hiking guide) - guiding in Belgium or abroad ; • ABROAD TRIP GUIDE (GUIDE GRAND TOURISME) (Diploma of abroad trip guide) – responsible of a group and guidingabroad. • LOCAL OR THEMATIC GUIDE (GUIDE LOCAL OU THEMATIQUE) (No Diplomarequired) – guiding in Wallonia in a specific area or on a specifictopic. • NATURE-AVENTURE GUIDE (GUIDE NATURE-AVENTURE) (Diploma of mountaineering, running …) able to guide duringathletic trips in Belgium or abroad. • NATURE GUIDE (GUIDE DECOUVERTE DE LA NATURE) (Diploma of nature guide) able to explain nature in Belgium or abroad. RECOGNITION AS A TOURIST GUIDE IN ONE OR SEVERAL CATEGORIES AND IN ONE OR SEVERAL LANGUAGES.

  5. CONDITIONS OF RECOGNITION : • FOR 6 CATEGORIES : DIPLOMA. • KNOWLEDGE OF FRENCH. • + 3 YEARS OF ATTESTED GUIDING FROM OFFICIAL ASSOCIATIONS (IN THE DIFFERENT LANGUAGES). • CODE OF ETHICS. IF ONLY ONE YEAR OF ATTESTED GUIDING : GUIDE ON PROBATION. OFFICIAL BADGE.
