  1. Please let us know how the services you received affect your wellbeing, academic performance and overall WWU experience. • Because of Mimi, I was able to connect with a fantastic therapist that I am still continuing to see, allowing me to more fully engage in academia. • Getting a referral off-campus was very useful in helping me find a counselor, especially as the WWU Counseling Center seemed too busy to help me. I will say that I am still rather frustrated that every meeting I went to only lasted as long as it took them to refer me to Mimi, and I never actually got more than ten minutes of counseling, tacked onto the end when I specifically asked. I feel it would be much more helpful for the students going through crisis to actually receive counseling when they make an appointment at the counseling center (ESPECIALLY crisis meetings!!). • I was referred out first through email without anything else to aid my anxieties. I felt rejected. However, i did get a call a couple weeks later and was able to make an appointment with the counselor who did my intake. • Referral to a therapist who was accepting patients was a relief, and while my performance didn't necessarily improve, seeing someone helped me understand why I was having difficulty and cope. It has also provided me with tools to complete the quarter. I believe the work I'm doing with my therapist will aid me significantly in my final quarter (spring 2017) and allow me to graduate.

  2. Q19. Here are some strengths of the Case Management process: Fast, finds people in distance of your living area, people that work with Your insurance, people who specialize in your needs. And checks in with You to make sure you found somebody, offers to help again if those people didn't work out! Valid referrals were provided in a timely manner. I thought the referrals were spot on. I found someone right away. I think the overall process was quick and efficient.

  3. Q20. Here are some ways I think the Case Management service could improve its process: The case manager just checked in with me again to see how I was doing, but I received help from them at the beginning of the quarter. Maybe check back in a little sooner? That's not a major concern though. Not all counselors I was referred to were actually accepting patients, or actually accepted my insurance. I would have preferred to see Mimi directly instead of having to go through another counseling center employee first.

  4. Q21. As we move forward, what other services and resources could or should be offered through the Case Management Office in order to better support you during your time at WWU? I think longer term counseling should be available at WWU. Sometimes it takes a while to find a therapist you click with outside of school and if the WWU counseling is working well, a little more time with them would be helpful It might put someone out of a job, but a computer search system would be fantastic to browse for counseling providers. N/A Going into the counseling center they literally listed ours tons of resources that's I had no idea about and it was super helpful, including the case management office, Mimi who had helped me find an office campus counselor. I was also provided information about disability resources with testing, free yoga and workshops, and all sorts of things in the counseling center! Thank you!

  5. Q18. Please give us your feedback about our Case Management services. I was given referrals for counselors that would help me with my needs, were accepted by my insurance, and also in the area (short bus ride or car ride). It made my life much easier! I don't know where I would have begun without this help to find a counselor. If I didn't have this help I don't know if I even would have found someone and began to get the help I need. You guys were very prompt and responsive when referring me to counselors in the area. The check up email was emailed out very late in the quarter.
